One of the sketches from imagination I made on cardboard during painting class (oil, 42x28 cm). I made a series of them, and tried to paint very quickly. I didn't prepare the cardboard with gesso (I wanted to keep the grey color of the cardboard), so it was quite absorbing which made it difficult to spread the paint. But I like the rough effect of it. My painting teacher recommended me to first put a layer of a wood glue-water-mixture in order to make the surface non-absorbing. And it's much cheaper than transparant gesso :) I'll definitly try it.
